Call for Nominations for March 2023 Election

BRNP Association will be holding elections for President elect and Treasurer at our March 9, 2023 meeting.  Please consider running and volunteering your service for our professions growth.  As an association, we can make an impact and we have successfully been growing in number.  We need involvement from new NPs to continue this trend.  If elected, you would be expected to attend the monthly meeting and executive board meetings which are set by the executive board when needed.  The job duties include:

Section 5.3: The President elect shall:

  1. Perform the duties of the President in the absence of the President.
  2. Succeed the President, as stated in Section 5.2.f.
  3. Serve as chair of the Bylaws Committee.
  4. Perform such other duties as assigned by the President.

Section 5.5: The Treasurer ensures the integrity of the fiscal affairs of the Corporation and shall:

  1. Maintain accurate financial records;
  2. Review expenditures on a regular basis to ensure overall fiscal integrity;
  3. Submit regular financial reports to the membership;
  4. Implement bi-annual audit and as needed;
  5. Present an annual financial report to the membership.
  6. Dispense the funds of BRNPA as directed.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned by the President.
  8. Discuss with membership the independent auditor every other year or as deemed appropriate.

The Nominations Committee includes Anthony Good and Christine Ritchey and forms may be emailed directly to them at the emails below.  We are in need of one additional volunteer for this committee.  Duties include assembling a ballot, distributing the ballot at the March meeting, counting votes, and maintaining the integrity of the election.  The Bylaws Article for Nominations is included below.

ARTICLE VIII – NOMINATIONS

 

Section 8.1:  Elections shall be held at the annual March meeting.

Section 8.2:  All elections shall be held by secret ballot.

Section 8.3:  The slate of officers shall be presented at the Annual March Meeting by the Nominating Committee and voted upon at that time.  The Nominating Committee shall count the votes.

Section 8.4:  The nominees who receive the highest number of votes shall be declared elected. In the case of a tie, a second vote will be conducted.  If the results remain a tied vote, the choice shall be decided by a lot to be drawn by a member to be designated by the President.

Section 8.5:  The incumbent President shall announce the election results and the elected officers shall assume their responsibilities at the close of the Annual Meeting.

Section 8.6:  The Secretary’s minutes shall serve as the official record of the election.

Section 8.7:  Representative to state board shall be presented at the last meeting of the odd calendar years and be voted at that time.  Elected representative shall assume responsibilities effective 1/1 of the following year.

Additionally, we are asking for volunteers to serve on the following Ad hoc committees:

  • Finance
  • Service
  • Development
